SolarWinds Configuration – Configuring SFTP Severs For File Transfers And Email Notifications

SolarWinds configuration may be something you are interested in if you are trying to configure your servers for email notifications and file transfers regarding real time configuration detection. In this post, we are going to deal with SFTP servers specifically. The SFTP Server runs as a service, but it can be necessary to implement some basic configuration to make sure it behaves in the way that works best for your environment. This is also why it is a good idea to use the services of a SolarWinds agent, as you can be sure that they will optimise your software so that it is achieving the best results for your business specifically.

So, how do you go about SolarWinds SFTP Server configuration? In the SolarWinds SFTP & SCP Server program folder, you will need to start the SFTP Server. Once you have done this, click file, and then configure. You then need to browse or type to a Root Directory, and then use the Allowed Protocols List to choose the protocols you want the server to support. In the Permitted File Transfer Operations section, choose the relevant options. Select the tab labelled TCP/IP, and type the TCP Port. Select Use Custom IP Address Binding if you want to specify the IP address configuration. Click the Startup & System Tray tab, choose the desired options, and then click OK.
