We’re excited to announce the new release of Log Manager for Orion ® v1.1. This release comes just six weeks after the LM v1.0 launch.
Log Manager is a fully-integrated log management solution that is accessible through your Orion Web Console. Upon installation, you can instantly view live event messages from nodes currently integrated with the Orion Platform, and quickly map unknown devices through the Node Management feature.
Key benefits include live event filtering to target, identify, and alert on current network issues, and seamless transitions between critical event messages and associated Orion Platform products for on-the-spot troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Log Manager v1.1 introduces Orion Alert integration, which helps to ensure that IT Admins are notified and can respond to important events based on log and SNMP trap data. Log Manager can now leverage all of the powerful alert actions included with the Orion Alerting engine, such as email notifications, creating a ServiceNow® incident, running a script, and much more. This functionality has been a long standing feature request and is a huge addition to Log Manager.
Also new in Log Manager v1.1, you can now filter on log tags. In the LM Log Viewer Filters pane, you can filter on your pre-defined and custom color-coded log tags as the tagged events stream into the viewer. To filter event logs based on a specific tag, click to expand the Tags group in the Filters pane, and then select one or more tag check boxes.
This release introduces several bug fixes as well as several other minor improvements.
Log Manager v1.1 fixes the following issues:
- Out-of-the-box rule policies not created in correct order.
- LM does not show incoming syslog and traps messages when both LM and DPA are installed.
- Add support for KIWI-specific IP address format.
- Orion Diagnostics doesn’t gather LM log files.
- Source Time not parsed correctly.
